Writing Workshops

Pen to Paper hosts weekly writing workshops comprised of hot-take sessions, endless snacks, and an hour of quiet writing time. During these workshops, writers are invited to follow crafted prompts or work on their personal projects. At the end of every meeting, writers have the opportunity to share their work.

Peer Feedback Opportunities

Pen to Paper offers an anonymous peer-feedback forum, where writers may submit excerpts of their pieces and receive feedback from their peers (anonymously, of course).

We also offer monthly critique circles, providing writers the space to share, discuss, and revise their work within community.

Evenings With an Author

Pen to Paper organizes bi-semesterly “Evening With an Author” meetings, inviting published authors/literary professionals to host masterclasses over catered, intimate dinners.

Transcribing Oral Stories

In partnership with Simpson House, a senior living facility, Pen to Paper launched the “Transcribing Oral Stories” project to help preserve overlooked histories within the Philadelphia community.

By conducting recorded interviews and engaging in weekly conversations, we assist Simpson House residents with compiling their stories into writing.

Cultivating Community

Through cross-club mixer events and bi-annual showcases, Pen to Paper offers its members the opportunity to highlight their work, develop writerly relationships, and deepen their involvement with Penn’s literary scene.
